We make Art on the skin
«One day they showed me that with a pencil and paper you could do wonderful things, that’s when I knew what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.»
My name is Franklin Jaimes, but I’m known as FAK. I was born in 1987 north of the Andes Mountains, facing the Caribbean Sea. I grew up in a family of artists and traveled throughout South America. From a very young age, I fell in love with painting, and I studied architecture, photography, art, and illustration.
I collaborate with my clients to create designs that fuse images from various graphic styles, expressing a part of who we are and what motivates us, whether on skin or digitally.
Since 2010, when I began tattooing, I’ve experimented with a variety of machines, needles, pigments, and products from manufacturers in the Americas, Europe, and Asia. From homemade machines and artisanal pigments to top-of-the-line professional machines and state-of-the-art inks safe for all skin types.
After exploring tattoo culture and its different techniques and styles in Venezuela, I moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina, where I had the opportunity to work and learn from many tattoo artists, designers, and photographers. Now I’m in Barcelona, Spain, to continue learning, make good friends, and get many more tattoos.
Most of my work has been self-initiated, focused on translating ideas into images, whether starting from references of other tattoos, digital art, or traditional art. I enjoy combining graphic styles such as lines, photorealism, watercolor, geometric figures, abstract art, and classical works of art in custom designs that tell a story, tailored to each client’s taste and body.
I really enjoy connecting with people, so through dialogue with clients, I find inspiration to approach any theme. This allows me to offer graphic proposals that reflect a combination of the artist’s and the collector’s perspectives, resulting in unique, custom-made pieces.
